Jan 24 – this is a sea day on our way back to Auckland. The most notable thing that happened today was playing a version of “Deal or No Deal”, the popular game show that was hosted by Howie Mandel. I won’t try to explain how it was played but only two randomly selected people were called to the stage to play for up to a $1000. I couldn’t believe it when I heard my name called out of the 75 or so people in the room. I picked a case and and turned down the bankers offers until there were only two cases left. In the end, my case was only worth $1. Another person played the second game and “took the deal” when the banker offered $155. Then they called a random name to win a prize based on the spin of a prize wheel. Believe it or not, my name was called a second time. The game show host gave the wheel a spin and I won $25 (one of lower amounts on the wheel). It was a lot of fun playing, even if I didn’t have a big payday.
Then I went to the casino and played a few hands of blackjack and won $55. I went back later in the evening and won another $60. All in all, it was a pretty good sea day!
Deal or No Deal? No Deal! I went to the end and ended up winning $1!:(
Then my name was randomly drawn for a free spin of the prize wheel. Won $25
That’s the Cruise Director Kelly during the game and the next night at a cocktail party.
