Oct 24, 2019  UPDATE – Kure Beach, NC

Now that we are working our way to Florida, we will only be posting updates every week or so.

We left High Point, NC, on Oct 17 at 10am and got to our site at the AF Recreation site in Kure Beach , NC, at 3pm.  Nancy told me this is our 23rd campground since we left Dayton! That’s a lot of moving…….it will be nice to stay in one place for a little more than 2 weeks!

Since we got to Wilmington, we have been busy checking the progress on our house, and shopping for a few things we need.  We have also enjoyed spending some time with Nancy’s sister, Marianne, and going to the beach.

Last Monday, Oct 21st, Nancy got a new car…..a 2020 Subaru Ascent. Nancy shopped hard for a the past 3-4 months, including driving everything she was interested in.  She finally settled on  the new Subaru Ascent and it just so happened that the local Wilmington dealer had just received a 2020 white Ascent that was loaded with all the options we wanted. So we looked at it and decided to pull the trigger now rather than wait until we got to Florida. It’s a lot of SUV for the money. It’s loaded with technology and as usual, has Subaru’s 5 star safety rating. Subaru was also designated as the top overall car brand in Consumer Reports 2019 automobile ratings. This car was 100% Nancy’s choice and I have to say I was glad to see her settle on a Subaru.

We’re really looking forward to getting back to Florida for the winter.
