MA to PA to VA…..7 states and 736 miles

Oct 7 – 8, 2019 – MA to PA

Oct 7 – Today, I picked Nancy up from the train station at 10:30am. We came back to the campground, got Alice ready to go, and were on the road by 11:15am. It was a long day. The wind was blowing hard and after about an hour, the rain started. And it never stopped until well into the night…..which means I had to drive most of our 358 miles in a steady rain. We got a site for the night just north of Harrisburg, PA, and, unfortunately,  I had to do the outside setup in the rain.  We’ll get up first thing tomorrow, get back on I-81, and drive to Wytheville, Va.

Nancy had a fabulous time visiting with her college friends Sue and Barb at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Boston. They walked the Freedom Trail, stopped by the Cheers Bar, went to the Boston Farmers Market, visited numerous other downtown historical sites, and enjoyed the accommodations and service available to them on the Concierge level of the Ritz.  They especially liked the “always full” wine dispenser and 24 hour food available. They also had a great view of downtown Boston.

Some pics from Nancy’s long weekend in Boston…..as you can see, they had fantastic weather!

USS Constitution- the World’s oldest commissioned warship still afloat. The ship earned the nickname “old Ironsides” when British cannonballs were seen bouncing off the hull.

The “never empty” wine dispenser……these women definitely got their moneys wort

Oct 8 – got up early and hit the road heading to Wytheville, VA. We stopped in Winchester and had a long lunch with my brother Andy, and still made it to our Campground in Wytheville, VA,  by 5:30pm.  The weather was really bad again today. We drove in the rain most of the day.  I was exhausted when we got here.

Total miles from MA to VA was 736 miles.  Glad that’s over!
