July 6, 2019 (this post was from our last day in Chile. I forgot to publish back in February)
We got up early at the Yelcho Lodge, had breakfast, and headed to the Chaiten airport to begin our long journey home. Like the trip here, it would take almost 24 hours to get home to Ft. Pierce, FL. Thankfully, there were no flight delays…..we did have a very long 7 hour layover in the Santiago airport.
We took a few last pictures of the landscape on the drive to the Chaiten airport
At the Santiago airport. The Pisco Sour is the national drink in Chile (similar to a whiskey sour).
We arrived back in Miami at about 6:15am, got our truck, picked up Frisco at my sister’s house, and got home to Ft.Pierce at about 10am. It was am fantastic trip but we were glad to be home.
Next up…..my final thoughts on Chile…..
