10/20/2018 – Pensacola

Today, we drove over to the base marina and took our SUP’s (stand up paddleboards) for their maidan voyage. It took quite  us a while to install the fins and get them inflated. The system I got to inflate our tires is too slow to inflate the SUP’s. Need to find another solution….

After about an hour and a half of prep, we finally got on the SUP’s about 11am. We paddled around some of the smoother, more protected waters around the marina. It was a fun time and a decent workout and, neither of us fell off……close, but we recovered….we stopped in a shallow area and sat around on the SUP’s resting a little and cooling off before paddling back.  We really enjoyed our first ride on the SUP’s. I’m sure we’ll be using them a couple more times this week.

After we took the SUP’s home, we ran a couple of errands. About 5pm, we had one heckuva of a storm….no wind, but VERY heavy rain for about 45 minutes. Glad we are staying in a place that has good drainage!

And then we watched a really sad football game. OSU got hammered by Purdue. …..making the playoffs just a lot more difficult…..

Inflating the first one….it takes a while!
