Another moving day….I’m still dizzy

10/4/2018 – Camp Verde, AZ, to Albuquerque, NM

We got Alice packed up and left for Albuquerque about 9:30am PST and arrived about 4:30 MST It was nice drive and a great weather day.

At the beginning of our trip, I learned the hard way that you should put some kind of foam cover on the corners of the slide-outs. In most cases, after we level Alice, I am taller than the bottom of the slide-outs.  If you hit your head on one of the corners, it can be quite painful. So I cut a slit in a pool noodle and put a piece on each corner to protect my head in case I hit it. Unfortunately, sometimes I get in a hurry and forget to put them on before starting my outside hookup process. So every so often I bang my head…..AGAIN.  Geeezzz, you’d think you’d think a person would learn after a few lumps! Today I hit my head on the corner hard enough to produce a nice size lump and a small cut…….not a deep cut, but enough to bleed quite a bit (like most head wounds). So, in order to help ensure my survival through the end of our trip, we  have agreed not to open the bedroom slide until I confirm to Nancy that I am done doing the water and sewer hookups.

Frisco’s wound is healing very well….the swelling on her foot is down and the skin is not nearly as inflamed. The Epsom Salt soaks are really helping.

Beautiful sunset this evening right behind where we are parked at the Enchanted Trails RV Resort. There are also a lot of Airstream trailers here for a rally in conjunction with the Balloon Fiesta. A lot of them are moving to the Fiesta campground tomorrow. However, those that do will have to boondock….there will not be any water, electric or sewer services available in the camping area. But we did hear that a service will come around and replenish water and pump waste for a fee. As for me, NO THANKS!
