Laying low at 7000 ft (Flagstaff)

9/26/2018 – Flagstaff

Special Note– we intended to refer to our fifth wheel as “Alice”……but I have been calling it “the trailer”, “the fifth wheel” or “the RV”. So while it’s a little late, I’m going to simplify the writing a little and just start calling our fifth wheel “Alice” as originally intended.

Today, we had to disconnect Alice and take her to the RV Dealer for repair. We dropped her off and hung around town until she was scheduled to be ready at 4pm. Unfortunately when we got there to pick her up, they  informed us that the wrong slide topper had been sent and they would have to reorder it and install it on Friday. So we brought Alice back to the RV resort, hooked everything up and unpacked. On Friday morning, we will disconnect again, take it for repair and come back and hookup again. And then disconnect again on Saturday morning and head for Camp Verde, AZ.  Geeezzz…..it would have made things a little easier if they could have installed the topper on Saturday morning on our way out but the service department is closed. Oh well, there’s nothing you can do except make the best of it.

Got a massage tonite the get some relief for my back, which has continued to give me some problems. I think a big part of the problem is my chair in Alice. We were warned that the stock furniture quality was not very good in RV’s and that is certainly turning out to be the case with the theater-style seating. We are starting for replacement chairs that are more comfortable, and provides the needed back support. Maybe we can some kind of credit via a warranty claim.

That’s about all for today.  Planning to go to Sedona tomorrow.
