Moved to Lake Powell

9/20/2018 – Moab to Page, AZ (Lake Powell)

Got everything ready and left Moab around 10:15 and got to Lake Powell about 3pm. It was a very nice drive through this amazingly different landscape. The Page Campground and RV Resort is ok resort but its a step down from the places we  have been staying the past few weeks. It’s also the first site we have been assigned to that is not level. So we really needed our auto leveling system. Well, guess what?  The auto leveling system malfunctioned. The front jacks went all the way down but none of the other jacks moved. And the front jacks couldn’t be extended to raise it back up. I got on  the phone with a service tech from Ohio and we were able to get the front jacks working again.  But the touch screen monitor, which I have never needed before but is required to reset the jack system, won’t turn on. So I may need to order a new one to fix the problem. I’ll know tomorrow after a local tech looks at it, if he can make it by. He wasn’t sure. The good news is that the front of our site was higher than the rear so with the front jacks all the way down, the trailer is basically level and we can use  it and sleep comfortably. But with all of the weight on the wheels and front jacks, the trailer is a little shaky when walking around.

But that’s not all, when we opened the slides, we heard a loud metal snapping sound and when we went out to investigate, we saw that the  pole that rolls up the awning cover had dislodged from the end caps. So I will need to get that fixed as well (if I can’t re-attach it myself).

We had a nice run with no problems. Oh well, as they say, this is just part of living on the road. And each time something happens, I learn a little more about how to troubleshoot and fix things. Hopefully, we’ll get the repairs handled while we are here at Lake Powell.

We also went to the library this evening to update all of our devices.
