Another trip to Arches NP

Today Nancy went for a bike ride while I went for my second massage in 4 days. I have had some back issues ever since I did the fishing trip down into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. I have a knotted muscle in my upper back that really aches after a strenuous hike. I can’t just sit around so it’s taking longer than normal to heal. But it it’s getting better……slowly.

We had a nice lunch at The Spoke in downtown Moab, bought a t-shirt and went to sign off on all the waivers to rent a Razor 4 wheeler  in the morning. We’ll be trekking off-road into the desert and mountains on some fantastic 4-wheeler only trails and climbing some slick rocks. Not sure why they call them slick rocks since they are generally made of sandstone and are quite easy to walk on. It’s kind of like walking on sandpaper.  Maybe they’re called slick rocks because they are so smooth. We have the Razer for 5 hours starting at 8am but we can keep it the rest of the day if we are just having too much fun to come back at 1pm.

We went back to Arches NP in the late afternoon to catch a better view of the Fiery Furnace rock formation, and to take the short hike to Delicate Arch, Double Arch,  and the Windows area. In  all cases, it was well worth the trip.
