9/7/2018 – Jackson Hole
We went out early today to try and see some wildlife; specifically, a bear and/or a moose. We got lucky and saw a bear that was only about 15 yards from the side of the road in the Teton NF. Nancy got pretty excited but despite her adrenaline rush, she managed to get a pretty good picture. We went on to one of the best moose spotting locations but didn’t see any. Sue and Peter went out a little while after us and did see a moose at the same spot about 15 minutes after we left. We’ll try again in the morning before we leave. We drove to Jenny Lake and got a lot of great photos of the Tetons and the lake.
Nancy took a 21 mile bike ride in the afternoon while I visited a few of the art galleries in Jackson Hole. They really have a lot of great wildlife, landscape and Native American Indian art including paintings, photographs, and sculpture. I enjoyed looking around and had a chance to chat with a couple sculptors.
Later in the evening, Peter and Sue came over for a cookout. We built a fire and enjoyed a quiet evening at the RV.
Our second bear sighting…..but we didn’t see any moose in the Tetons

Nancy’s bike ride took her along the National Elk Refuge in Jackson (note the fence height)
