Moved to Jackson Hole, WY

We finished packing and left for Jackson Hole by 9am. We arrived at the Fireside RV Resort  and were setup in our pull through site by 12:15pm. We will be here until Saturday morning. The overall resort is pretty nice but not as nice as Grizzly in Yellowstone. Also, the cost is really steep because the demand for RV sites in Jackson Hole far surpasses the supply.

We relaxed a little and then headed to town to pickup a couple of items at the hardware and have a beer at the  Silver Dollar Bar & Grill, which is part of the famous Wort Hotel. Here’s a little history from their website……..

In 1917, Charles Wort, a local homesteader from Nebraska, purchased 4 lots in downtown Jackson for $25 each. For a while the land was used as a horse corral next to a livery stable (for you non-cowboys and girls, a livery is a place where horse owners paid a weekly or monthly fee to keep their horses).  From 1932 to 1940, the Wort family operated what is now Signal Mountain Lodge in Grand Teton National Park. Through the sale of this facility, the family financed construction of their dream; a luxury hotel in downtown Jackson, WY.  In 1941, his two sons, John and Jess, fulfilled their fathers dream of creating a luxury hotel and opened The Wort Hotel. Nine years they added the famous Silver Dollar Bar. In 2015, The Silver Dollar Bar was expanded to reintroduce The Showroom, Jackson Hole’s Premier Music Venue.

We then headed over to the Snake River Brewery to join Nancy’s BFF from UD, Sue, and her husband Peter, for dinner.  It was great to see them again. We will be doing several things together this week before we both leave on Saturday.

Unfortunately, Nancy starting developing cold symptoms on the drive from Yellowstone to Jackson. She is taking some over the counter medicine to get some relief from her sore throat and congestion. Hope she feels better soon. Of course, it would have to be pretty severe to keep her from getting out to explore Jackson!

Here are a  few pics from the truck as we drove through Teton NP. As you can see, it was another spectacular weather day.
