Today we packed a lunch and some adult beverages, rented a raft, and went fishing on the Middle Flathead River. It was a lot of fun. However, with the unusually hot weather in Montana this week, all of the fishing outfitters advised the fishing has been really slow after 11am, and doesn’t up pick again until an hour or two before sundown. Unfortunately, by the time we checked in with the outfitter and got in the water, it was already 10am and, as expected, the fishing was very slow. Phil caught two cut throat trout on my spinning reel using a crawfish lure. Phil hasn’t fished very much so I was glad he caught a couple. I was fly fishing and, unfortunately, I got skunked. But wow, what a great time! It’s hard to imagine a much more beautiful place to float down a river. We got home about 5pm. We grilled some bison burgers for dinner and took it easy after that. A long day in the sun on the water has a way of zapping your energy……
Did anyone laugh when you got skunked?
So happy to hear you got out on the water and fished!! Love the pics!
