We packed up and headed to Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia, this morning and when we got to our exit there were some TV cameras filming, and some fire fighter personnel directing people to another route to Radium. There is forest fire that caused them to shut down one of the main roads that cuts through the Rockies to Radium HS. Vermilion Pass is a high mountain pass in the Canadian Rockies, traversing the continental divide. It connects Kootenay National Park in the province of British Columbia with Banff National Park in Alberta. Being diverted made our trip about twice as long as it would have been, which was no big deal given the scenery around here. We got to our site and were really happy to see how nice it was. We are the very first people to stay in the new section of this park. Our site is surrounded by beautiful aspen and pine trees, and there is a really nice stream running right behind our RV. Nancy made some great clam dip so we relaxed, had a couple cocktails, and enjoyed the beauty of our new surroundings.
Everything is better when the girls are happy!
I’d also like to give a shout out to my best friend Steve for sending me a text with a picture of my good friends from the muffin shop (actually “My Favorite Muffin” in Centerville, OH). This a great group of guys that have been meeting to discuss the world’s problems for many years. We don’t always agree on the best solutions, but every one of them have great hearts. I miss you guys. Wow….this looks like a 5 table day….impressive!
Dave (aka “The Godfather”)- good job! It looks like you are making the necessary “pre-emptive moves” to ensure everyone has a seat!
Take care……
Ha! You’re right Lars. But my “perspectives of a different color” are usually not well received!
Bet those discussions miss some balance. Maybe you should tweet them? I understand they love tweets.
