Last day in Canmore/Banff

I took Nancy and her bike to Vermillion Lakes so she could take a last ride in and around Banff. I went to the library and worked on our blog (free high speed internet) and made some edits to past posts. I also went back to “The Wood” for another watermelon salad and a beer, and was back by the time she returned from her ride. She rode the Heritage Trail on the return from Banff. When she rode it a couple days ago, her phone was dead so she couldn’t take pics. Today, she got quite a few.

Yesterday, with all of the hiking, I did over 17k steps. Although we usually walk the dog together, I was little tired out after the day so she took Frisco for an evening walk. She finished the day with over 21K steps!

We decided to cut another day off of Canmore and will head to Radium Hot Springs tomorrow morning. In a way, we hate to leave. This is a very cool small town with a good vibe about it. The Elevation Center I mentioned in an earlier post even has a pretty sophisticated rock climbing facility that is heavily used for training (pics below). We both agree this has been our favorite town so far.

Sadly, I just never got the opportunity to do any fly fishing here. I’m hoping to get an opportunity in Radium, a quieter, more out of the way place as compared to Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise. We’ll see….

It looks like our next site in Radium Hot Springs, Canyons RV Resort, will be the nicest RV park so far. We will be moving into a brand spot that was just opened up after an expansion of the park. The site is right up against a stream with concrete patio area’s. Looks very nice. The owners even sent us a pic of our site. Our next spot after that is Columbia Falls RV Resort (Glacier NP) and it looks very nice too.

Here are a few pics from Nancy’s ride.

A natural hot spring in Banff. The white is some kind of hard calcified deposit under the water flow.
