Arrived in Jasper

Got into Jasper around 2:30. Unfortunately, while we were parking in our pull through site at Whistler Campground, a tree hit our RV (surprise, surprise…..and we thought we had this parking thing figured out!).  In our defense, it was another very tight fit between the trees.  We ended up with some pine sap and bark stains which I was able to clean and rub out. The heater panel got dented a little but there is no functional damage……just cosmetic. We will replace the exterior panel when we get back to the US. BTW, Nancy handles these incidents much better than me. :>

We also found that our sewer was near full so we had to get the park service to get a plumber to pump it out to make it usable. The ranger indicated that this happens often enough that the local plumber typically drops by almost everyday to handle these situations…….so it was not a problem. It’s a big campground and it seems all the full service sites have there own septic tank. The ranger also mentioned that the entire campground is going to be closed next summer for renovations.

Nancy made things much better by cooking up our best meal yet……perfect medium rare filets and homemade vegetable slaw.

We are here for 8 nights so, for the first time, we did a complete setup including the patio rug, chairs, grill, propane fire pit, etc. This will be the “norm” from now on. We also had quite a few “visitors” shortly after we arrived. Tomorrow we will take the gondola up a mountain and have breakfast, and then take a hike on one of the many trails in the park.
