Day 1 is finally behind us!

Today was a long day (480 miles) with ALMOST no problems. Unfortunately, when we pulled in to setup at our site in East Moline, IL, our reserved site was occupied. Nobody was home and there were no other sites available.   We finally got a hold of the camp manager and he contacted the people via phone and they rushed back and left pretty quickly. They were nice folks………they apologized and said they had simply “lost track of the time”.  After we setup, we went and had a nice meal at Biaggio’s in Bettendorf, IA.

Our campground is called Fisherman’s Corner. It’s an Army Corps of Engineers campground and it sits right on the Mississippi River. It’s a very nice site and the weather is great……sunny and 75 with expected lows tonight in the mid 50’s.  We’ll be hitting the road early tomorrow and stopping again for the night in Salem, SD.
